The University of Adelaide's alumni have distinguished themselves throughout the world in their individual fields. Our alumni include names such as Dr Andy Thomas, the first Australian in space, Antarctic explorer and geologist Sir Douglas Mawson, nuclear physicist Sir Mark Oliphant and current President of Singapore Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam.

2013 Recipients
  • Distinguished Professor Roger Byard AO PSM (M D 1994, M Med Sc 1997) - in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contribution nationally and internationally in the field of Forensic Pathology.

  • The Honourable Julia Gillard - in recognition of her outstanding leadership and contribution nationally and internationally in the field of Public Service.
  • Mr Philip Hoffmann AM (B Sc 1968, B Sc (Hons) 1969, Dip Ed 1971) - in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contribution to the field of Tourism.

  • Distinguished Professor Oliver Mayo FTSE FAA (B Sc 1964, D Sc 1989, B A 2008) - in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contribution nationally and internationally in the field of Genetics.
  • Ms Natasha Stott Despoja AM (B A 1991) - in recognition of her outstanding leadership and outstanding contribution to the fields of Public and Community Service.
