The University of Adelaide Research Institutes bring together world-leading researchers with modern infrastructure and an innovative culture, uniting a community of more than 1000 scientists and students to tackle research priorities.

Aimed at delivering real results which contribute to the social, economic, cultural and environmental wellbeing of our nation and the world, friends and alumni have the opportunity to help make a difference by supporting research into issues that present the biggest challenges in the 21st century.
 


The Robinson Institute tackles big issues around prevention of illness for individuals and their children, working to find new treatments for serious diseases, focusing on reproductive health, stem cell research and health across generations.
   

The Environment Institute will address some of the most serious environmental challenges facing Australia and the world today through bringing together expertise in biodiversity, water, climate change, economics, marine research, energy technology, natural resource management and ancient DNA.
   

The Institute for Mineral and Energy Resources (IMER) aims to become the premier research and educational facility for the mining and energy sectors in the Asia-Pacific region by growing the economically critical mineral and energy resources industries in a technically, economically and environmentally sustainable manner.
   

The Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) aims to become an international leader in photonics and advanced sensing. Using a transdisciplinary approach that unites leading research activities in physics, chemistry and biology, IPAS will develop new measurement paradigms to underpin health, the environment, defence and national security.
