Heritage Foundation
The tangible elements of the University - its buildings, statues and grounds - are fundamental to the unique experience of studying and working at the University of Adelaide.
Many of the University's buildings are heritage-listed, reflecting our 134-year history. Founded in 1874, the University of Adelaide has developed side-by-side with Adelaide, producing:
Among the oldest in the state, the University’s heritage buildings are Adelaide icons as well as working centres of university life. Restoration and preservation of these buildings does not attract government funding. With your help, the scarce resources currently used for heritage buildings will be directed towards students and staff - where they are most needed.
The Heritage Foundation aims not only to restore the past, but also to ensure a bright future. Heritage is more than just history; it is the story of how we got to where we are today, and an indicator of where we can go tomorrow. A gift to the University of Adelaide Heritage Foundation will:
- Finance the ongoing restoration and preservation of our 30+ heritage buildings
- Free up capital to focus on nurturing world-class research
- Allow us to continue to attract the best staff and students from around Australia and the world
Time for Action
