Class of 1961 Scholarship recipient announced

The Class of 1961 decided that their relationship with the University should continue when they met for their Golden Jubilee event in October 2011. Under the leadership of Ken Allen, they decided to create a scholarship to support excellence in research through providing a supplementary scholarship for an outstanding PhD candidate.

Jasmine Morley, one of the highest ranked entry students into a PhD in 2012, has been rewarded with the Class of 1961 Scholarship which will provide an additional $6,000 to her over the 3 years of her PhD.

Jasmine completed her undergraduate course at Flinders University followed by a Masters in Linguistics at Monash University, and will commence a PhD in Linguistics at the University of Adelaide in July.

Jasmine hopes to focus her research on the preservation of endangered languages.
